The fine Art Nouveau building, constructed in 1905, has long been one of the most beautiful and elegant hotels in the region. Refurbishment 1998 was directed by the Slovene architect Dobrin, who followed the original plans and restored its Art Nouveau charm with decorative stuccoes and copies of etched glass window panes made by the world famous glazier Rehvald from Plzen.
The Grand Hotel Union has now as well as in the past been the choice of guests, including heads of state, diplomats, business people and artists, athletes, tourists…
In addition, there is a garage, an exchange office, a newspaper and souvenir shop, fashion boutique, jeweller and hairdresser.

If you leave your room after the posted check-out time 12:00 we charge 50 percent of the daily room rate as a "late check-out" fee.
There is no charge for children under the age of 12 sharing a room with adults in existing bedding. Extra bed cost is 27 EUR per night. Baby bed is free of charge.
Reservations may be cancelled until 18.00 hours on the day of arrival free of charge. In the event of non - arrival or late cancellation the equivalent cost of one night's stay will be charged.
